Free Fire Unban News: Will Free Fire Make a Comeback in India?

In today’s blog, we will discuss the possibility of Free Fire unban in India. Some rumors are circulating about the Free Fire unban news. Earlier the Indian Government banned 54 apps in the country on 14th February regarding the threat of National Security.

Garena Free Fire- Illuminate was also included banned along with the other 53 apps that the Indian Government bans.

Garena Free Fire releases an official statement on this matter.

“We are aware that Free Fire is currently unavailable in the Google Play and iOS app stores in India and that the game is currently not operable for some users in the country. We are working to address this situation, and we apologize to our users for any inconvenience,”

Why did Garena Free Fire get banned in India?

If we want to know about the possibility of unbanning on Free Fire, we first need to understand why Free Fire is banned in India. After reading many articles on this topic, I summarize a short brief reason for you,

In the official statement of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of India said these 54 apps were banned for being a threat to national security. According to the reports, these apps are sending the data of their user to China.

Garena develops free Fire, and the parent company of Garena is Sea Limited. The interesting fact is that Tencent (a Chinese multinational company) owns 25.6% of the share in Sea Limited.

So there is an indirect relation of Free Fire with Chinese gaming company China. That’s why India banned Free Fire.

Is there is a chance of Free Fire Unban?

There is one good news for Free Fire fans: it can come back on Google Playstore and Apple’s App Store in India. According to some reports, Garena Free Fire talks about this ban with the Indian government. If they somehow satisfy the Indian Government on their data regulation, then there is some chance that the Indian Government may lift the ban on Free Fire.

However, it depends on Garena Free Fire and the Indian Government. In our next blog, we will discuss two other alternative ways Garena can take to bring Free Fire to India.
